Unique animal world-
close enough to touch!

As well as the unique animal world in the Nature Park there is a whole load of special offers for unique experiences with animals. Apart from the domestic ones there are also animals from other regions there that are especially attractive for children.

Wildlife Park Lüneburger Heide

The wildlife park Lüneburger Heide in Hanstedt-Nindorf has the biggest collection of species of all the wildlife parks in the whole of Germany. This is the right place to get close up to animals such as Snow Leopards, Artic Foxes, Wolves, Musk Oxen, Kodiak Bears, Grizzlies, Moose or Reindeer. There are 120 species living in the 60 hectare wildlife park, and more than 1,000 animal inhabitants within the original landscape of the North Heath.

In the animal enclosure the whole family have the opportunity to feed and stroke Fallow Deer, Goats and Donkeys. Twice a day in the Falcon show the „Hunters of the Sky“ enamour the spectators

The wildlife park is open daily the whole year around, and is easily accessible from the A7 motorway.

Bird of prey aviary Bispingen

In the bird of prey aviary in Bispingen the visitors can get to close terms with 30 Eagles, Falcons Hawks, Buzzards and Owls in the course of a 90 min. guided tour. There are no cages separating the bird from his observer.

The bird of prey aviary lies between Amelinghausen and Bispingen on the B209, in between heath and woods. The guided tours take place from May until October.

Owl garden Amelinghausen

The Owl garden in Amelinghausen(Finkenweh 18) is a privately owned Owl garden. Rolf Nobel leads his visitors on tours, at 15.00h.every Wednesday and Saturday(providing it's not raining),from 1st of May until 30th September, through his idyllic gardens with the Owls. There are about 15 different species to be wondered at.

Experiencing Ants-Exhibition

Did you know that Ants are the secret rulers of the world?In the Exhibition -Experiencing Ants-in the House of Nature in Döhle you can learn more about this.

Here children,youths and grown ups have the opportunity to observe Wood Ants in the Formicarium, without getting crawled all over. Moreover you can find out more about this fascinating intricate world of the ant in a playful way with contact games, on models, from information hangouts, with the bisected nest, ant labyrinth, a small exhibition of stamps dealing with ants, and other pictures, slides, showcases etc. etc.
