Wood Adventure Center Ehrhorn
In the „Wood Adventure Center Ehrhorn“, between Wilsede and Schneverdingen, the history of the woods is presented in an unusual manner ,for example with talking heather, The exhibition brings the theme „Preservation“home to the visitors using the heath as an example.
At the center of attention is the history of mans challenges with the environment. So it describes the life of the first farmers, those that encountered a paradise with springs, woods and fertile soil, but was ruined by exploitation and turned into a wasteland-sand being all that remained.
Later there was some reforesting and the landscape changed once again. So it deals with different forms for using woods in the Wood Adventure Center: going from the Heath Agriculture, Pine Monoculture up to the modern day Forestry, with its well structured and more nature orientated woods.
Wood adventure trail Ehrhorn
A 4km. Long trail around Ehrhorn leads through the historical traces of the Wood and Heath and offers many experiences with woods and possibilities to play also.
